24 LRT Stops for Scarborough
Many of you know that I have been advocating for an evidence-based transit plan in Scarborough for several years now. The Mayor and a majority of Councillors are pushing forward with a plan to build a 1-stop subway proposal to Scarborough Town Centre for $3.346 billion.
Or, for approximately the same City funding, we can choose instead to build 2 LRT lines with 24 stops that will connect many more Scarborough residents to rapid transit. One line would have 7 stops using the existing RT corridor to link STC and Centennial College to Kennedy Station. Then, with money saved, Council could fund a new 17-stop extension of the Eglinton Crosstown through Kennedy, serving Kingston Rd, UofT Scarborough, and several neighbourhoods in between.
Please click here to tell the Mayor and other local representatives that you want 24 stops for Scarborough transit users!

Relief Line
As residents of Midtown know all too well, the Yonge subway is severely overcrowded during rush hours. Local transit users are stuck waiting for 2 or 3 trains to have the pleasure of being crammed into the subway like sardines. While the Mayor and some Councillors are wasting money on unwarranted transit projects, the Yonge line is reaching a crisis point.
What subway expansion project do former Metrolinx CEO Bruce McCuaig, TTC CEO Andy Byford, Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat and City Manager Joe Pennachetti all agree is Toronto’s top transit priority? The Relief Subway Line.
